Hi, I’m Ellen!
I discovered yoga through my grandparents, who were both daily practitioners. Around age 6, I did my first sun salutation and kundalini kriya at their home in the Smoky Mountains. As I grew up, I explored the practice independently and in many studios and wellness spaces.
In 2021, I found my yoga home and settled into a greater level of dedication to my practice. This is where Ayurveda found me.
I had been dealing with countless symptoms and frustration with my health for years. I was managing an autoimmune disease, chronic sleep problems, a disordered relationship with food, and overwhelming fatigue.
I saw my home studio post about an Ayurvedic workshop. It was hosted by my now teacher and mentor, Leah. I knew I needed to be there. I didn’t know how drastically it would change my life.
Immediately after the workshop, I began 1:1 Ayurvedic counseling. After the first 3 months, I already felt measurably different, not only in my body, but also in my mind. After 2 years of dedicated practice, I was living nearly free from symptoms.
Alongside my personal ayurvedic work, I dove deeply into yogic study. I found inspiration in studying under teachers of various lineages and embarked on my first teacher training with Supersoul Academy in 2023, led by Raghunath Cappo and Cindy Lunsford. In this 300-hour Bhakti immersion in Maharashtra, India, I studied advanced sequencing, Yin yoga, Vedic philosophy, Ayurveda, mantra, and kirtan.
Inspired to continue my yoga education, I completed an additional 200-hour and 300-hour training through NuPower Yoga. In these 500 hours, I explored Viniyoga, Iyengar, Power Vinyasa, guided meditation, mantra, and deepened my Ayurvedic knowledge. Under the guidance of Linda Fenelon, Leah Kaplan, and Raquel Bueno, I built a strong technical foundation and found my own voice as a teacher.
After my last yoga teacher training, I knew Ayurvedic education was the next right step. I knew I needed to develop the skill set to share this life changing practice with my community. I completed my certification as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor through The School of Ayurveda.
Which brings us to the present. In my 1:1 work with clients, I utilize my diversified education to help bring others into balance and remember their true nature.
I find so much joy and peace in this practice and am so honored to share it with others. I also love spending time in nature, seeing live music, spending time with my three cats, and cooking for friends and family.
